Ugo Rondinone works with a variety of media including sculpture, painting, photography and installation. His works are characterized by their aesthetic beauty, their strong and disruptive colors, and the exploration of universal themes such as nature, identity and love.
Rondinone was born in 1962 in Switzerland and studied at the Hochschule fur angewandte Kunst in Vienna from 1986 to 1990.
This artist is known globally for his striking and controversial monumental sculptures, which stand out for their strong colors that cannot go unnoticed and become part of the environment, breaking into it and inhabiting it, simultaneously in a very natural way as well as in an aggressive way.
In 1998 Rondinone moved to New York, where in addition to being an artist he is a curator, poet and a great art collector.
Some of his most iconic series are “Seven Magic Mountains” and “Vocabulary of Solitude”,
His sculptures can be found in museums and galleries as well as in public spaces. Some of his most iconic outdoor works can be found in cities such as New York, Miami and Las Vegas.
